Gearing Up for The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is basically Christmas in the Summer, and it’s just around the corner! I have loved shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale each year because the sales are so good. If you’re unfamiliar with the sale, you’re able to score the latest upcoming trends for fall and winter at a huge discount- I’m talking like 40% off!
The sale can be overwhelming at times because it’s the up and coming, latest and hottest trends that will be worn in the coming seasons. They have insane deals on beauty, home, men and women’s shoes, fashion and accessories, baby, you name it. Adaleta and I will be shopping the sale this year and can’t wait to share our favorite picks with you all. We will be a guide to you for the sale to show you what pieces are worth it, which pieces are likely to sell out, and how to best shop the sale. I’ve created a list of things you should know prior to the sale beginning in such a few short weeks.
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is truly unlike any other sale out there. It’s all brand new inventory and new trends for the upcoming season. Typically in a sale, we see items that have been in stock for a while and are going out of style and season, not this sale!
When does the sale take place?
There are two start dates for the sale. As a Nordstrom Cardholder, you are able to shop the sale on July 11th. If you do not have a Nordstrom Card, you may shop the sale when it opens to the public on July 19th. If you’ve been on the fence about the Nordstrom Card, now is the time to sign up. You get early access to the sale, and if you sign up before July 10th, you get a $60 Bonus Note! They no longer have the Debit option of the Nordstrom card, so be sure to do whatever is best for you financially, you can always wait until public access goes live.
How do I shop the sale?
We don’t have a Nordstrom in Tucson, so I usually shop online. You can easily shop online at Nordstrom.com as soon as the sale begins. Exciting news, this year though, because Adaleta and I will be traveling up to shop the sale so we can share what items look like on, quality, how to style them, our sell out predictions, and what items we are taking home with us!
Do you have any tips for the sale?
If you love something and would be devastated to not have that item in your closet, check out fast. I’m talking like just check out immediately then go back to browsing. Not sure if you remember the whole Nordstrom Anniversary Sale fiasco last year, but it wasn’t good. The website crashed because there was too much traffic. During this time, I ordered a pair of pants and was literally devastated when I got an email later on that they were refunding my account because they didn’t have the stock to ship them to me anymore. I think about these pants every now and again and wish I checked out and didn’t think about it. Nordstrom has a great free return policy so my best advice, pull an Ariana Grande and if you see it, you like it, you want it, YOU GET IT ASAP!
Sort through the items you already have at home before the sale begins. You may realize you really don’t need a new pair of jeans, but you need a new leather jacket because yours is starting to fade. Making a mental note or a list of what you know you’re going to want going into the fall and summer is super helpful. You’ll probably end up with several things you didn’t know you needed, but it’s important to take this time to get what you really need at a killer price.
Do you have a list for the sale?
Yes, I always am looking at the following items:
Shoes: A good pair of sneakers, mules, fun wedges, over the knee boots, and of course, booties. I’ll admit it, I do have a shoe addiction… but can you blame me? My jeans might not always fit me every day of the week but my shoes always do 😉
Jeans: I love stocking up on good denim during the sale. Some of my favorite brands are pretty pricey, so if I can get them at a heavy discount and they’re what’s hot and trending for the fall… sign me up!
Dress: If you have any special occasion coming up, I would stock up on a nice dress too. Whether it’s for a wedding, winter graduation, or shower, you can never go wrong with being prepared and ordering something to add to your closet for a special occasion.
Designer: I usually scope out handbags, wallets, sunglasses and phone cases. Michele Watches are typically included in the sale, too (which is huge). It’s always fun to look!
Beauty: They always have the best beauty bundles. They’re truly unbeatable! In year’s before I have seen drybar, Mario Badescu, GlamGlow, Nars, and more. You already know that Adaleta will be covering all things beauty from head to toe for this sale. It’s a great time to stock up on your favorite products!
Home: They have great deals on all things home during the sale. Usually, this includes barefoot dreams blankets and throws, which are pretty expensive when not on sale.
Gift: I usually stock up on a nice gift. I love keeping a gift drawer or closet in my house so if I realize I forgot to get a gift, I have something on hand.
