Testing Tula Probiotic Skincare
Probiotic Skin Care
You may have heard of TULA from a few of my fashionista and beauty friends already. To be honest, I take my time when it comes to picking the right skin care. When it comes to my face, I want to be very careful so I hesitate to try every single thing out there. Tula has been mentioned quite a bit recently, so I wanted to see if the hype was right. To give you a little background, it is a probiotic skincare line created by gastroenterologist Dr. Roshini Raj. The products combine probiotics with other skin friendly superfoods to naturally balance and boost the health of skin. "The mission of Tula is to use clean, clinically proven, high-quality ingredients to create products that help women feel more confident." Knowing me, you know I had to give it a run to see my honest thoughts about their products.
This post is in collaboration with & sponsored by Tula Skincare.
Now, let's break down each of the products.
You know I'm always honest with you, and upon first glance, I honestly had no idea what this product was or how it would benefit me. I took some time to read through the directions, and the ingredients to figure out exactly what this will help me target.
This is an alcohol-free toner which uses probiotics and glycolic acid to help balance the skin by restoring it to an ideal pH. When the pH is balanced, the skin is much more smooth, hydrated and looks fresher. I simply dab a few drops on a cotton pad and go over my skin with this gel, after cleansing my skin.
Hydrating Day & Night Cream $52 USD
First off, I love the idea of a day and night cream. Oftentimes brands are giving us two options. One for day and one for night so they can increase their sales, so just want to take a moment and notice this unique marketing. You can use this cream in the morning and night. You don't need two different ones!
This cream is great for all skin types (ranging from oily to dry, all the one to sensitive and mature.) Typically when I test moisturizers, my concern is always breakouts on my skin because moisturizers are normally the product that causes breakouts for me personally.
I pulled the stats above from the Tula website, because I love these stats especially when I see them on beauty products. Most commonly I find them on mascara. 95% of women said this grew their lashes half an inch! These claims are legit and I find a lot of comfort when I know others have tried it before me.
Exfoliating Treatment Mask $54 USD
This is a detoxifying bentonite clay mask and provides seriously gentle exfoliation which I'm a big fan of because normally when I exfoliate with any product, it makes me face turn bright red. With this mask, my skin gets a little rosy but it is by no means cherry red.
There is turmeric root in this mask, and turmeric has powerful antioxidant and healing properties that help reduce inflammation, so it makes sense that this mask doesn't inflame my face like all others do. The clay of course draws out impurities and helps to cleanse the skin thoroughly getting deep into those pores. Along with those benefits, this mask is perfect for uneven skin tone (like mine!) and will help reduce the appearance of those pesky acne scars many of us struggle to conceal.
Purifying Cleanser $28 USD
To me, the star of the show when it comes to Tula skin care is this purifying cleanser. Never have I ever felt my skin respond so quickly, and so well to a cleanser. If you've been around my blog for a while, you absolutely know that I am all about scents. If a product smells funky, I prefer not to put it on my face because it's too close to my nose and I don't want to smelling nastiness all day. This cleanser is lightweight, foams up easily, creamy and hydrating, and it smells fresh. Honestly, the consistency is perfection and the results are incredible. It's not drying, and it gently cleanses the pores and gets rid of all the dirt on the face.
I find that my skin looks significantly healthier, and less lackluster. It was a bit dull and grey with the old cleanser I was using, and I feel like just this product alone transformed my skin. I find this extremely hydrating especially when my skin is feeling super dry in this 100+ degree heat we're already have in Arizona!
Illuminating Serum $78 USD
Anything with the word illuminating in the product always seems to grasp my attention quickly. This serum is super lightweight so it is an easy one to apply on in the evenings, and doesn't feel heavy. It helps target dark spots, hyperpigmentation and dull skin, so the combination of this serum and the cleanser have made my skin so luminous I can barely handle it!
One of the key ingredients in this formulation is safflower oil which helps to improve quality of skin and helps the regeneration of new cells. This means that as skin cells are dying, safflower oil is helping keep the cycle moving so new cells are coming in sooner.
All you need is a dime size amount and you can apply this morning and/or night. I typically like to add this step in the evenings when I'm doing my full skin care routine, but it is definitely easy to put under your makeup too.
The reasoning behind the use of probiotics for Tula specifically is due to the fact that applying probiotics to the skin can help stimulate production of defense cells that restore the skin's natural balance and stabilize its immune system. The science behind it allows probiotics to decrease sensitivity, redness & inflammation.
